New powerline networking adapter set from Corinex creates multimedia networks in minutes! LAS VEGAS (January 8, 2009: CES Booth #26805 Las Vegas Convention Center) ¾ For consumers looking to install their own digital entertainment home network, Corinex Communications introduces the HomeNet Powerline and CableLAN HD200 series of adapters, the latest addition to the company’s AV200 product line known for carrying video on demand (VOD), IPTV, voice and broadband Internet access over existing electrical wires and cable wire infrastructure.
HomeNet is a convenient solution for consumers wanting to create multimedia network applications without adding any new wiring to their home. The product uses Broadband over Powerline (BPL) technology.
Supporting transfer rates of up to 200 Mbps, HomeNet provides ample bandwidth to stream multiple high quality video signals while simultaneously delivering high speed Internet access throughout the home. Simply plug in one adapter to an electrical outlet and a modem or router, and all of the electrical outlets in the home are ready to receive high bandwidth multimedia signals. Installation is easy, and a robust home network is set up in minutes without having to run new cabling, or deal with wireless limitations, including reduced bandwidth, dead-spots, frequent disconnects and reconnects, etc.
“HomeNet provides consumers with an easy-to-install alternative to re-wiring their entire home in an effort to create a digital home network,” commented Scott Despot, senior director of sales for Corinex. “Not only is HomeNet easy to install but it provides all of the same advantages of a wired solution such as a clean uninterrupted signal at hard-wired speeds, without having to install new cabling.”
In addition to the existing features of all Corinex AV200 products, HomeNet introduces the following new enhancements to consumers:
- Increased transmission line noise immunity. Traditionally electrically noisy devices such as hair dryers and vacuums plugged into the power line circuit now have less affect on the network. - Improved circuit sensitivity. Powerline adapters can now receive network data at higher speeds over longer distances with less packet loss. - Interchangeable AC interface connectors. Now the adapter’s AC wall plug can be changed based upon where consumers are located, meaning the adapters can travel and work from the U.S. to France, China to Brazil and even from Australia to Russia. - Power-saving standby mode. When not in use, the adapter can be put in standby mode minimizing the unit’s power usage and keeping electric bills low.
With HomeNet, VoIP, broadcast television and multiplayer online and head-to-head games do not experience glitches, frame loss or delays, even if other users in the home network are downloading large files, Web surfing or streaming audio and video files.
HomeNet is available starting today for $169 MSRP. For more information or to purchase HomeNet, visit Corinex at www.corinex.com
