Optional Features

  • Noise-Resistant Gateways – These gateway couple to two MV lines and uses the differential phase signal to try and eliminate noise. By reducing the noise, the gateways will be able to transmit the BPL signal over a greater distance. Noise-resistant gateways are ideal for overhead lines.
  • Battery Backup – In case of a power outage, the gateway can be equipped with a battery so that it will still be powered for up to four hours. Useful if the user requires access to this part of the network during a power outage to provide remote management.
  • Modified Band – Per FCC regulations, this gateway only transmits the BPL signal from 2 – 30 MHz instead of 2 – 34 MHz. Also note that all gateways are still capable of putting notches at frequencies where the user does not want the gateway to transmit at.
