Mannheim, Germany, August 10, 2026 — Germany’s nationwide smart-meter rollout is entering a critical deployment phase. The GNDEW rollout roadmap established mandatory deployment milestones reaching 95% by 2030 for designated installation groups.

To support this next phase of implementation, Corinex GmbH has opened an office in Mannheim, bringing commercial and technical expertise closer to German utilities, system integrators and technology partners.
The Mannheim team will support projects from technical architecture and pilot deployment through system integration and large-scale rollout, helping DSOs build the digital infrastructure needed to operate increasingly complex and electrified low-voltage networks.

Germany is implementing one of Europe's most ambitious distribution-grid digitalization programs. The Corinex Headend Integrated LTE Router securely connects field devices and secondary substations with centralized utility and smart-metering systems using high-speed BPL and integrated LTE backhaul, enabling near real-time visibility across the low-voltage network.
Corinex Plexigrid Intelligence builds on this field and operational data to create a continuously updated digital twin of the low-voltage network. It helps German DSOs identify constraints, evaluate hosting capacity and determine where flexibility can unlock additional capacity or where physical reinforcement is required.
The platform gives utilities the visibility and intelligence needed for faster operational decisions, more effective capacity planning and targeted investment as electrification accelerates.
Built on open standards, the Corinex platform is interoperable with Smart Meter Gateways from different vendors, preserving vendor and technology choice.
In June 2026, Corinex and EMH metering verified interoperability between EMH’s CASA Smart Meter Gateway and the Corinex 1T BPL Modem, demonstrating Broadband over Power Line as an interoperable communications option for Smart Meter Gateway deployments in Germany.
Corinex is also a strategic technology partner of Theben Smart Energy, maintaining seamless integration between the CONEXA 3.0 Smart Meter Gateway and the Corinex BPL platform. The partnership supports Smart Meter Gateway connectivity, low-voltage visibility and the integration of controllable devices for German utilities.

Martin Rick joins as the Innovation Officer & Solutions Engineer, bringing more than 30 years of experience in smart-grid communications, electronics engineering and broadband powerline technology. Previously Senior Product Manager for Smart Grid at Power Plus Communications, he brings deep expertise in BPL and LTE network planning, smart meter gateway connectivity and field deployment. He will lead Corinex’s German field application engineering team, supporting utilities from pilot projects through large-scale rollout.
Dr. Andreas Schönbauer joins as the Senior Director of Strategic Accounts, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience across the energy, digital infrastructure, telecommunications and cybersecurity sectors. As a veteran of the powerline communications industry, he previously served as Vice President of Sales at devolo, where he led the company’s international expansion. At Corinex, he will lead strategic relationships with German utilities and partners.
Marko Chudzinski joins as the Director of Strategic Accounts, adding extensive expertise in smart metering, utility market structures and business development. His experience at Solandeo and Energy & Meteo Systems strengthens Corinex's ability to support German utilities as they advance digitalization and electrification.
Together with Wolfgang Heiler, Executive Commercial Director, the team provides local commercial and technical support throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with Corinex's engineering and product organizations to deliver solutions tailored to German utility requirements.
